08:35 pm - Book Meme To distract myself from revision...
What we have here is the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing’s users. As in, they sit on the shelf to make you look smart or well-rounded. Bold the ones you've read, italicise the ones you own but haven't read, underline the ones you started but didn't finish.

10:59 pm So, I got to see Ani live last night. It was sooooo amazing!! She is just so fantastic. I loved it! Also, the guy who supported her, Hamell on Trail was really cool too. Although he couldn't pronounce Glasgow or Haggis (really, who can't say Haggis?) properly, but nevermind, he was hilarious.
My friends and I were seriously upset however, when we heard a girl behind us before the show say "I haven't actually heard that much by Ani Difranco before. I just came along because I heard she sounds a lot like Alanis morissette". Ahhhhhh! Go. Away. Now. Before I hurt you. But yes, very enjoyable besides that.
In other news, I am enjoying my vet course a lot! It is quite a lot of work, but it's all really interesting, so I'm liking it. Edinburgh is sooo much fun as well. I'm so happy to be living here. St Andrews was really good, but it is just so small compared to here! There's so much more to do! Plus, all the people on my course are really fun, so we always have a good time together.
I guess really the only bad thing that has happened recently is both New Zealand and Scotland being knocked out the rugby world cup... But I won't get started on that(Stupid cheating France...) Current Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

06:18 pm My last couple of weeks:
June 22nd: Graduated from St Andrews. Happy and sad all in the same day, as pretty much everyone was leaving the next day.
June 24th: Broke up with Tom. More his idea than mine, but possibly for the best.
June 25th: Moved back home. Have been working in my parent's B&B which is all right. I also work for a company called AQA. They are a number which people can text any question to. I get to answer the questions. Its pretty fun, sometimes you get funny/interesting questions. Can also be a bit annoying sometimes too.
July 9th: Got accepted to Edinburgh Veterinary School! :) :) :) Am soooo happy that I've been accepted! And I got into the 4 year programme, rather than the 5! Although, I now have to start a month early for an intensive course where they smush that 1 year into 1 month! (eep!)
So, my next couple of weeks:
July 21st: Go to Joanna's wedding in Manchester.
August 5th: Move to Edinburgh.
August 6th: Start Vet course!
Exciting things are happening!!

01:49 pm Well, today I got my dissertation all printed and bound. Yes! I'm so pleased with myself. :) Now I need to prepare a presentation for the 8th of May, but that should be fairly easy. And now I've just got one month left until I graduate. Eek! It's all very scary! But at the same time, I'm pleased to be moving on to new things.
I just wish I knew where I was moving on to! I haven't had much luck with my vet school applications so far. I'm going to apply down in Australia and New Zealand as well as applying to Britain again next year, so hopefully I'll have more luck with that.
And, at the moment, I can't even apply for summer jobs, as my parents are wanting to move again, and we're not sure when/where that'll be! *sigh* Nevermind though, it's still all very exciting.

08:09 pm I've been writing my dissertation this semester, and nearly finished. It's taken so much time and energy, and yet today it just seems so insignificant in comparison with what's going on around the world.

12:10 pm Recently I've been listening to Ani a lot (I'd forgotten how good she is!). So today when I went into Fopp, the new music store that has (finally!!) opened up in St Andrews, I went to see if they had any of their CDs. I haven't bought any of her CDs since 2001. They had 1 copy of her latest CD, so I quickly snatched it up. And its really good! I'm glad I bought it, its made me happy.

12:34 pm Well, I guess it's been a while since I've updated this thing!
On Saturday I got back from Islay (an island on the west coast of Scotland) where I had spent a couple days with my cousin Shona, who is currently visiting from Australia. I'd never been to any of the Scottish Islands before, and I really enjoyed it! We were really lucky, it never rained the whole time we were there, it was just really gorgeous and sunny. Apparently it was the best spell of weather they had had all summer. Although the public transport on the island isn't very good, we still managed to get around alright, and see a couple of different towns, a couple whisky distilleries, and we got to go horseback riding along a gorgeous beach!
I would definitly reccomend people to go visit, although take your own car if you can! Although, in saying that, the buses are interesting. One of the bus routes is operated by the Royal Mail - they have a mini-bus that the postman drives, which picks up people from bus stops, as well as picking up all the mail from the post boxes. A good idea, I guess, but still a bit crazy. Another time, when we were on a regular bus, the driver stopped to let a passenger off, then got off the bus himself, leaving the engine on and the door open, to go accross the street to pop into a store for a can of coke!
Other than that, I haven't been up to too much lately, just working in the B&B. On Wednesday, I'm going back to St Andrews, which I am so excited about! I can't wait to go back, and to see everyone again, and to get back into the routine of things. Although I'm sad its going to be my last year, I'm going to try to get it to be the best year yet. Yeah!

10:30 pm On Saturday I'm flying off to the Isle of Man to visit my friend Sarah, and to also do work experience on a dairy farm. I'm really looking forward to it! Although I have done some farm work previously, with sheep, I've never worked with big animals before, so I'm a little bit nervous (I know cows are meant to be nice, but still! If I do something they don't like, I'm sure they could hurt me easily!) but still excited. I'm also really happy that I'll get to see Sarah again, I haven't seen her since the end of term, and she's such a good laugh!
Today I bought tickets to see Snow Patrol in Glasgow in December, which I am very happy about. I've been wanting to see them for ages, and somehow never quite managed it, not without trying tho! Tickets officially go on sale tomorrow, but I got to buy tickets early for being a member of their fanclub thing on their website. Go me!
I think that's all I have to say at the moment.

04:19 pm So I finished all my exams last week (Yay!) and this past weekend I went up to Aberdeen to visit John, which was really fun.
But now I've got nothing to do! I made a pavlova, and since then have just watched tv and played around online.
Someone give me a suggestion of something to do, please!

03:12 pm I have just finished the last two pieces of continous assessment for this semester (year even!). I am now going to a garden party being put on by the biology society which involves lots of alcohol. It is SO beautiful outside right now, without a cloud in the sky, and actually warm enough to wear a skirt. Later tonight I'm going out to dinner with my rugby team to celebrate the end of the season. Will be much, much fun.
Today is such a good day!

02:49 pm The new smoking ban is currently my favourite piece of legislation.
I love the fact that I can go to the bop, and not wake up the next morning with my hair stinking of smoke. Yes!
Had a very good night last night. It was my first proper night out since the smoking ban has come in, and I loved it! Went to Macintosh Hall Ball with a bunch of people from biology. Most of us aren't actually in Macintosh, but we went along anyways. The band was really good, sorta of jazzy and poppy, and lots of fun to dance too. Then we left a bit early, so we could go to the union and bop it up, and ended up bumping into so many people that we knew. Lots and lots of fun!
Right, now I have to go do some research on seals for my project. Yay...

07:03 pm I just went across the road to Alldays to buy some milk, and there on the counter, they were selling pogs! Man, I haven't seen those things since I was in 4th grade. I used to love them! Are they getting big again now? Thats just crazy...
Yeah, so I guess I haven't updated in ages, although some cool stuff has been happening. Last weekend I went to see Death Cab for Cutie in Glasgow, and they were amazing! So so so good! And now they've been all I can listen to all week long.
On wednesday I went skiing with some friends up in Glen Shee, which was really fun. Although, I've only been skiing once before, and on a manmade ski slope in Michigan, which I now realise is actually really easy compared to actually mountain skiing (duh Fenella!). I managed to ski into wooden fence (go me!) and now have a massive bruise on my knee. Yes, just what I wanted when I needed to wear a skirt this weekend. Nevermind, was definitly a good laugh!
Yeah, I'm sure there was some other stuff I wanted to write, but can't remember.Oh, Ireland beat Scotland today in the rugby today, and I'm quite sad now... :(

12:11 pm So exams are over! (yay!) I think they went alright. Not brilliantly, but it'll do.
Tomorrow I'm going home to start packing. And we have somewhere to move to now! My parents have bought a B&B in Stirling: http://www.castlecroft-uk.com/index.html
Apparently my dad went to go see it, made an offer and bought it within the hour... My mum hasn't even seen it yet! But she's sounded quite confident in his decision. It must good for him to be so swift. So yay for having somewhere to live now!
Right, back to having nothing to do, and being lazy!

02:23 pm We're now into the exam period at uni. Yesterday I had my first exam, but it didn't go very well. I just couldn't seem to get down what I wanted to say. I knew what I wanted to say in my head, but I just couldn't seem to get it down on paper the way I wanted to.
Today was my second one, and it went sooo much better. So I feel a lot happier now. I'm going to take an afternoon off now, and just clean my room and stuff, and that start revision again tommorow. My next/last exam is Wednesday, so I've still got a while to revise for it. Yay!
So nearly done with that, and then I'm hopefully going to go away somewhere with Tom for the break before the next semester starts. We found some really cheap flights/hotel in Spain, which would be fun, although its not that much warmer over there. It'd be really nice to get out of Scotland for a bit though.
As well as doing that, I still have to pack up my room at home, since my family is moving house, but that hopefully shouldn't take too long, since most of my stuff is a uni anyways.
There's some very dark clouds moving in, I really hope that its snow, and not rain like it usually is!
